‘Agni’ is the giver of long life: is a guest, a friend and also the domestic priest. God as Agni is viewed in three phases: physically, He is seen as a blazing fire in Yagna, which destroys the filth of the Universe: psychologically, He is seen as the vital force in the body which provides health and happiness: spiritually, He is regarded as Par Brahma.
